HSSC is very happy to announce that we will receive the proceeds from the 2018 Woodstock 5 Miler on Saturday, June 9, 2018!! This is a gorgeous race (or walk) between the bends of the Shenandoah River.
Many thanks to the Shenandoah Valley Runners for sponsoring and coordinating this event! We hope to see everyone there!
HSSC is ecstatic to announce that the Community Cats Podcast Grant will match the $1,000 raised from Painting for Paws on April 8! Thank you so much!
Many thanks to everyone who came out for Painting for Paws on April 8. What a wonderful afternoon and HSSC raised just over $1,000 to support our life-saving programs! Thanks again to the Woodstock Brewhouse for hosting us, Thrivent Financial for sponsoring the supplies, and Three Melons Bake Shop for the cookie basket to raffle off!!
Many thanks to Payton Grant and her donations to HSSC! Payton just turned seven and asked her birthday party attendees to bring donations for HSSC instead of presents! Happy Birthday and thank you again!!
HSSC would like to thank the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Strasburg, VA for their $300 donation to spay/neuter and vaccinate the cats at the mill. Spoofy, Millie and Angel are lovingly cared for by Wendy and have made the mill their home. Thank you again!!
Thanks so much to Golie and everyone at Paws Purr Love Pet Sitting who donated food and supplies!!
All of HSSC's spay/neuter programs have already had a very busy 2018! As of March, we have fixed over 425 cats and dogs!! As you can tell, HSSC has been on a trapping marathon to reduce the community cat population.
"Operation Catsnip" has TNR'ed over 15 colonies with colony sizes ranging from several cats to 43 cats!! We are hoping this means less Spring kittens than last year!
HSSC could not do this without all of our wonderful volunteers who give tirelessly of their time and energy, the community who supports HSSC's programs, Anicira Veterinary Center for transport and vet services, the generous funding from Two Mauds Foundation and the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) which has been quickly utilized in 2018 and the Elizabeth Clark Foundation for their ongoing support! This is truly a team effort to reduce the cat population in our beautiful county!!
HSSC will be kicking off our Spring Fund Drive soon. If you would like to donate, please use the donate button or mail a check to HSSC, PO Box 173, Woodstock, VA 22664.
If you have a pet to be fixed or you are feeding outside cats, PLEASE contact HSSC for spay/neuter (540-421-4842, firstname.lastname@example.org). Do not wait, you will have eight!!
