The HSSC is always in need of volunteers.  If you have been wanting to volunteer, the following should be helpful.  Give it a try! We guarantee your help will make an impact.  Call us at 540-984-7101, send an email to info@hsscva.org, or fill out this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd9lj4pgV8uAxCpDyD2OXZ7tv8ID-HUqPoTNouwHZaarldqgQ/viewform?usp=sharing

Spay/Neuter Transport:  help register animals two-four mornings a month for transport to and from the Anicira Veterinary Center in Harrisonburg. Volunteers meet at 6:30 a.m. at the HSSC shed at the Edinburg Park on both days to set-up for either check-in or check-out. We also need volunteers to drive animals to and from Anicira in Harrisonburg between transports or to help transport pets to and from the Edinburg Park.

Events:  help HSSC set up and man tables at community events to sell shirts, magnets, collect donations, and educate the public on our programs. We will also occasionally have dogs, kittens or cats for adoption.  HSSC sets up at locations around the county and festivals and community events throughout the year.

Fundraising:  we are always looking for new and creative ways to raise funds to support our programs.  Some of our programs such as Fix-a-Pit has always been funded by donations and HSSC fundraising efforts.

Fostering Kittens, Cats, and/or Dogs:  HSSC is always looking for high quality foster homes. HSSC always provides supplies and vet care, you provide the socialization and loving home!
We also need volunteers to drive foster animals to vet appointments and our rescue partners.
To foster please fill out this application: https://www.petstablished.com/foster_form/17674/generic

TNR:  Trap, Neuter and Return of community cats. Volunteers are needed to either help educate colony caregivers to perform the TNR themselves or if the caregiver is unable to do TNR, for the HSSC volunteers to trap the cats, have them transported to Anicira to be fixed and then returned.
